How to complete the arrival registration

1Open the official website and create an accountCheck the domain carefully before entering passport information. Use an email address you can access while traveling.
2Register the travelerEnter the passport information exactly. If the current service offers accompanying-family registration, follow its on-screen eligibility instructions rather than assuming everyone can share one code.
3Add the arrival tripEnter the planned arrival date, airline, flight number and accommodation details. Review the year and flight direction carefully.
4Complete immigration and Customs informationOpen every required section and answer all questions. A Customs declaration is required for each traveler entering or returning to Japan.
5Confirm the 2D code is readyOpen it before leaving reliable internet and save it for offline access if the current screen permits. Keep the passport ready; the code does not replace it.
6Follow the signs after landingShow or scan the code only where airport or border staff instruct. At supported integrated kiosks, scan the code and passport and follow the identity-check instructions.

Confirm that the arrival date, airport, airline and requested flight number still match the current itinerary.

Do not stop after creating the trip. Confirm that the immigration and Customs sections show the completed state required by the live service.

Display the current 2D code
Make sure it belongs to the correct traveler and trip. A saved old code can look valid while containing outdated registration data.

Keep the original passport ready
The 2D code does not replace the passport, border examination or a required visa.

The code will not open

Reconnect to official airport Wi-Fi, sign in through the official domain and reopen the correct traveler and trip. Never give an unofficial helper your password or passport data.

The flight changed

Correct the registered arrival information using the current itinerary before presenting the code. Do not rely on a screenshot made before the airline changed the route.

You cannot use the electronic route

Tell airport staff. Japan Customs says the paper declaration remains available; use the procedure staff directs instead of guessing or skipping the declaration.

The kiosk sends you to a desk

Follow the instruction. Electronic declaration does not prevent Customs inspection, and the final route can depend on the declaration and airport procedure.
