This policy explains how Japan Joy Guide selects topics, checks facts, updates guides, corrects errors and keeps commercial relationships separate from practical advice.
Editorial responsibility
Each guide is selected, reviewed and published by Masa, Japan Joy Guide Editor. Masa was born in Japan, has lived in Japan for more than 40 years, has over 20 years of experience in communications services and also operates web services. The byline links readers to this policy and the About page. Masa is responsible for the final wording even when research, translation, coding or drafting tools assist the process.
Source priority
Japanese government agencies, local authorities, police, fire and ambulance services, airports, transport operators and official medical-information services.
The organization that sets the relevant timetable, eligibility, price, coverage, booking, delivery or cancellation conditions.
Secondary sources may help explain a topic or identify a change, but they do not override the responsible authority.
High-impact claims—especially emergency numbers, medicine restrictions, entry procedures, legal rules and dated policy changes—are checked against an official source before publication.
How a guide is reviewed
- The opening answer must state what the traveler should do first.
- Numbers, dates, fees, contact details, affected routes and eligibility conditions are checked individually.
- Claims that vary by location, time, provider or personal circumstances are labeled as variable.
- Official resources are linked near the relevant action whenever practical.
- The published page displays a latest-review date.
Updates and corrections
Articles are reviewed when an authority announces a material change, a source link breaks, a reader reports a possible error or the editor identifies information that may no longer be reliable. Material corrections are made promptly after verification. Minor wording, design and accessibility improvements may be made without a separate correction note.
Readers can report an issue through the Contact page. Please include the affected page URL, the sentence in question and an official supporting source where possible.
Digital and AI-assisted tools
Digital tools may assist research organization, drafting, translation, coding, image preparation or quality checks. They are not treated as sources. Important facts must still be checked against the responsible official source, and the site owner and editor remains responsible for the final published content.
Commercial independence
The useful answer, safety information and official option come before an affiliate recommendation. Paid services are optional and commercial links are labeled. A commission does not guarantee inclusion, favorable wording or a higher position. See the separate Affiliate Disclosure for details.
Scope and limitations
Japan Joy Guide publishes general travel information for international visitors. It does not replace personalized instructions from immigration or customs officers, police, emergency services, medical professionals, insurers, transport staff or another responsible organization. In a conflict, follow the current official instruction.
